Ian Musgrave was thirteen when Woodstock happened. Growing up in the shadow of the Sixties, he watched the hippies on TV, enamoured with their free-wheeling lifestyle and laid-back sense of community.
So in 1972, when he ran away from home to start a new life, Ian expected the road to the west coast to be paved with peace, love and understanding. But someone forgot to tell him that the Sixties were dead.
His idealistic dream of life on the road quickly turned into a drug fuelled nightmare. Once Ian crossed the line from the straight world to the hip, he wondered, would he ever find his way back home again? A dark tale of adventure, abuse and addiction.
